Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about Staff email migration:
1. Why can’t I open my Outlook mailbox?
a. One of the most common reason was that your Lotus Notes Alias name was part of your username. Outlook will not open the mailbox if it detects that your username contains your Lotus Notes Alias name.
2. Why are some of my old email contents not visible after going over to Outlook?
a. One of the most common reason was that the staff missed running the Conversion process after getting their new Outlook mailbox. The conversion process would bring over the encrypted email contents to Outlook. If you are missing a big chunk of your old emails, please let us know or contact Support@np.edu.sg .
3. Why are the staff names non-standard?
a. During the migration process, it may be a little messy:
i. Those who have migrated: The staff email Alias would take precedence and appear as their email address.
ii. Those yet to migrate: They would continue to use their Lotus Notes email address
b. After the migration has completed, staff will be switched over to the Government Naming convention.
4. How can I search for staff easily?
a. You may click on the Address Book on the extreme right of the menu
b. You may type part of the name or userID and click on “Check Names” option in the menu.
5. Where can I find a fuller Staff address book?
a. A fuller address book is in the staffhome > https://staffhome.np.edu.sg > Staff Search link at the top right.
