FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Principal.pngDear Graduate,

My heartiest congratulations to you on graduating from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

I hope that you have been enriched by the many rewarding experiences that NP has provided. Whether it was an insightful internship, an eye-opening overseas trip or the valuable guidance from lecturers and mentors, I hope these experiences have developed you for the better and will stay with you as fond, everlasting memories.

We have done our best to nurture in you a passion for learning, big-heartedness and the skills to thrive in the global marketplace. These traits will stand you in good stead in a world that is becoming increasingly volatile and unpredictable, yet exciting.

Unlike your parents, you will likely go through more rounds of jobs, and perhaps even several different career paths. We may see you back in Ngee Ann, perhaps for a SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Programme or some other course offered by our CET Academy, or you may seek other avenues of learning. Whatever the case, I urge you to embrace learning, and re-learning, to deepen your skills or acquire new ones.

As you pursue your dreams and grow in success, remember to be grateful to those who have supported you. Cherish your relationships and do your part to ensure they thrive.

Let me leave you with this powerful quote by an anonymous author. I hope it will guide you as you navigate the waters of your future.

“At the end of life, what really matters is not what we bought but what we built; not what we got but what we shared; not our competence but our character; and not our success, but our significance. Live a life that matters. Live a life of love.”

I wish you a fulfilling life and look forward to hearing your future stories.

Clarence Ti
Principal, Ngee Ann Polytechnic
