Some Lenovo notebooks shipped in the last quarter of 2014 may have included the Superfish Visual Discovery software as a shopping aid to customers. The method used by Superfish to display images to customers, compromises the computer's security and makes it vulnerable to a hacker's attack.
The affected notebooks are Z-series, Y-Series, U-Series, G-Series, S-Series, Flex-Series, Yoga (excluding ThinkPad Yoga), Miix and E-Series. ThinkPad notebooks are not affected.
Microsoft, McAfee and Symantec have updated their software to automatically disable and remove this Superfish software so that any affected users are automatically protected. Click here to find out more.
Besides viewing the semestral results through the NPal2 Student Self-Service portal, students can also choose to receive their semestral results via the SMS on the day of the official release of results. This way, students will have the option to receive the results on their mobile phone, in addition to checking it online and receiving the printed result slip by post.
It is very easy for students to register for this SMS results service. Students just have to log-in to the NPal2 Student Self-Service portal to update/register their mobile phone number and simply opt for the "SMS Notification" service well before the start of the semestral examinations. Students are encouraged to register in time and enjoy the convenience of receiving the semestral results via the SMS.
