Outlook - Staff Feedback

We have received feedback about Outlook on wired connection. The common issues are as below:

  • Login prompt is slow to pop up when launching Outlook.

  • Outlook connection is always showing “Trying to connect…

  • Emails and folders content take a long time to be displayed on Outlook client.

If you are experiencing any of the listed symptoms, it could be due to your notebook/desktop network address. You may overcome this by refreshing your network address. Please follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that you are connected to Staff Wired LAN.

  2. On your desktop taskbar, double-click on the CyberGatekeeper Agent icon ().


  3. Go to Tools and click on “Release/Renew IP”. After doing so, please close and restart Outlook.


Outlook – New Government Email Naming Standards

We have successfully implemented the new government email naming standards to your email address on 27 Apr 2016.

Here are a few things to take note of:

  1. Login to Outlook
    There is NO CHANGE to your Outlook login credential. Please do login with your old email address (eg. xyz@np.edu.sg) and your NPNET password.
    If you are being prompted the wrong username (eg. NPNET\xyz) during login, please click on “Use another account” to login with your email address.




  2. Clearing old Auto-Complete list of names or email addresses.
    Click HERE for more information.
    Please contact Helpdesk or Support@np.edu.sg should you require any assistance.

  3. Update Outlook Address Book
    a) Go to File >> Accounts Settings >> Download Address Book


    b) Uncheck/Untick “Download changes since last Send/Receive” and click “OK”.


    c) Please close and relaunch your Outlook after the address book download has completed.

    Services hosted on www1.np.edu.sg (eg. NPGlobal, Facilities Booking, NExS, etc.) will be unavailable during upgrading period.

    Staff Password Change and Password Reset services will also be unavailable during the upgrading period.

    MeL services will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

  • NPal2 Services
    All NPal2 services will be unavailable during maintenance period.

  • Upgrading of WWW, NPWeb, Staff, and Student Portals
    No editing for WWW, NPWeb, NPCMS, Staff Sharepoints, Staff Portal, Student Portal, Parent Portal, and SSSWits during the upgrading period.

 

Sat, 14 May 2016, 10am - 6pm

  • Network Maintenance
    Intermittent and slow access to Internet access on campus, NP Email, and Staff VPNs.

 

Sat, 28 May 2016, 9am - 5pm

  • Upgrading of WWW, NPWeb, Staff, and Student Portals
    No editing for WWW, NPWeb, NPCMS, Staff Sharepoints, Staff Portal, Student Portal, Parent Portal, and SSSWits during the upgrading period.
