The Altiris software in staff computers facilitates the automatic installation of key patches.
This is to inform you that the Altiris software in your computer is being upgraded to a higher version while you work. No action is required of you. The exercise will be completed by end of Mar 2013.
If you have any queries about the upgrade, please contact Support@np.edu.sg.
Please note that Windows 8 operating system is new and it has not been certified by Blackboard and Peoplesoft.
Kindly refrain from upgrading to Windows 8 for the moment. There is no impact to students as they are not using the above features. If you encounter any other deviations in Windows8, please share with Support@np.edu.sg so that we can work with the relevant parties for workaround.
New and enhanced features in Office 2013 Word, Powerpoint, Excel and OneNote 2013, such as open PDF in Word, Flash Fill in Excel may help to improve our productivity. A limitation of Office 2013 is: It could only be installed on computers with Windows 7 or Windows 8.

MeL will be unavailable during maintenance from Fri, 15 Mar, 7pm to Sat, 16 Mar 2013, 4pm for database upgrading.
All NPal services for Staff and Students will be unavailable during maintenance on Sun, 17 Mar 2013 from 9am to 12noon for the application of security patches.
Staff and students may encounter slower system performance when accessing the campus wireless network during the maintenance window.
